Canyons and Wines on Gran Canaria

After a first stop in the lush palm grove of Arteara, we visit the prehispanic necropolis of Arteara. The lovely village of Fataga also deserves a visit. In La Bodega de Las Tirajanas, the winegrower welcomes us with open arms and proudly shows us his bodega. We taste his wines and cheeses. Our next stop is the palm grove of El Ingenio de Santa Lucía. Hippies have carved caves out of the rocks at the deepest point of the ravine and built tree houses in palm trees. On the beautiful terrace of a local restaurant we are spoiled with Canarian tapas. Going local! After lunch, we visit the last battlefield of the Spanish conquest: La Fortaleza de Ansite.
