Gran Canaria´s Wild West

Through the narrow gorge of Arguineguín we drive up to the old village of Cercados de Espino with its cute church, old houses and "tienda de aceite y vinagre". The grocery store is so old that it is classified as “ethnographic heritage”. Our next stop is the largest reservoir on the island: la Presa de Soria. We walk over the dam wall and look down 130 m. We are surrounded by a dramatic landscape of gorges and chasms. Through the pine forest we drive up to the beautiful reservoir of Las Niñas. A photo shoot fits perfectly into the picture! In Los Albarianes, past an abandoned pre-Hispanic house and under ancient pine trees, it's time for a luxurious picnic! After lunch, we visit the charming village of Veneguera.
